مقدمة
الحاويات هي واحدة من أهم والبضائع التي تتحرك تقنيات وأسلوب لتوزيع البضائع في شكل الموحدة ، مما يسمح لنظام النقل المتعدد الوسائط أن تطورت توفير تركيبة ممكنة من السكك الحديدية ، والطرق ، والقنوات والنقل البحري ، وضعت النظام في 1930s حتى عام 1960 أن الحاويات أصبحت عنصرا رئيسيا في الشحن عبر المحيطات.
الآن يمكننا أن نرى مدى بالحاويات أصبح أكثر جاذبية في العالم ، ومدى الفوائد ، وذلك باستخدام الجيل الجديد من سفن الحاويات يصل إلى 8000 حاوية نمطية (تحت الإنشاء) ، محطات الحاويات ومرافق الموانئ. (انظر المجلد الثاني).
شحنة حاويات الشحن الناجح يعتمد على أربعة أسس الأساسية.
1. مطابقة البضائع إلى النوع الصحيح من الحاوية التي هو الانسب للرحلة المقبلة -- عن طريق البر أو الماء.
2. التأكد من أن الحاويات في حالة جيدة قبل تحميل البضائع ، وأنه يتم التعامل معها بشكل صحيح وطوال الرحلة.
3. ضمان أن يتم تحميل البضائع بشكل صحيح في وعاء والمضمون بشكل صحيح ضد الحركة خلال الرحلة.
4. ضمان إبلاغ جميع المعلومات ذات الصلة البضائع لجميع الأطراف المناسبة لضمان أن الحاوية ومحتوياته سيصل الى المرسل اليه في حالة المتوقع.
بالحاويات هو أسلوب أو ممارسة تستيفها الشحن في حاويات قابلة لإعادة الاستخدام من حجم وشكل موحد للنقل. قد يكون في بعض الأحيان الشحن غريبة الشكل وبكميات مختلفة. ولكن عندما خزنها وشحنها في حاويات ، ويمكن التعامل معها كقطعة واحدة مما يجعل من الأسهل كثيرا على النقل. هذا يقلل من الوقت والتكاليف المترتبة على ذلك. الحاويات كما يتيح النقل المتعدد الوسائط ، أي حركة من مجموع أصل إلى الوجهة ، وذلك باستخدام وسائط مختلفة في طريقها مثل الطرق والسكك الحديدية والشحن وشركات الطيران وغيرها يمكن أن تكون إما مزيج من عدة أو حتى اثنين فقط من هذه الأوضاع.

Introduction
Containerization is one of the most important cargo-moving techniques and method of distributing merchandise in a unitized form, thereby permitting an intermodal transport system to be evolved providing a possible combination of rail, road, canal and maritime transport, system was developed in the 1930s until the 1960’s that containerization became a major element in ocean shipping.
Now we can see how far containerization became more attractive worldwide, and how far the benefits, using new generation of container vessels up to 8000 TEUs (under construction), container terminals and port facilities. (see volume II).
A successful containerized cargo shipment depends on four basic fundamentals.
1. Matching the cargo to the correct type of container that is best suited for the forthcoming voyage – by land or water.
2. Ensuring that the container is in good condition prior to loading the cargo and that it is carried and handled correctly throughout the voyage.
3. Ensuring that the cargo is loaded correctly into the container and is properly secured against movement during the voyage.
4. Ensuring that all the relevant cargo information is communicated to all appropriate parties to ensure that the container and its contents will arrive at the consignee in the expected condition.
Containerization is the technique or practice of stowing freight in reusable containers of uniform size and shape for transportation. The freight may sometimes be oddly shaped and in different quantities. But when stowed and shipped in containers, it can be handled as a single piece thus making it a lot easier to transport. This reduces the time and costs involved. Containerization also enables intermodal transport, i.e. the total movement from the origin to the destination, using different modes enroute like roadways, railways, shipping, airlines etc. It could be either a combination of several or even just two of these modes.
